Thank you for considering becoming an official sponsor of the Desert Ridge High School Band program.
The Desert Ridge High School Bands booster club, DRHS Band Parent Organization (BPO) strives to
give the students their best tools to succeed. We are seeking your sponsorship or in-kind donation to
support our fine young musicians in their pursuit of musical and academic excellence. With current school budgets, the band program receives very little district funding and relies on parent and booster club fundraising for crucial areas such as general operating costs, instrument purchase and repair, and music.
The Desert Ridge High School bands consist of a marching band with color guard, concert band,
symphonic band, wind ensemble, jazz band, and Desert Ridge Rhythmic Theater. These students work hard and put in hundreds of hours of practice each year.
The band program is highly regarded and in the 2021-2022 school year, the DRHS band program earned the high distinction of the William E. Richardson “Program of Distinction” Award by the Arizona Band and Orchestra Directors Association (ABODA). DRHS is the first band program in the school district to earn this award and only the 6th band program in the state to ever qualify for this achievement! The marching band earned 1st place in their division in the AZMBA state competition and placed 3rd in the state in the ABODA state competition. The marching band represented the state of Arizona at the 75th annual D-Day Memorial Parade in Normandy, France 2019. The concert bands consistently place with high ratings of Superior and Superior with Distinction at competitions held throughout the year. It has been shown that music programs help achieve academic success and many of our students are on the honor roll.
We need your assistance to continue to help this band program thrive and grow! Our areas of greatest need are:
General Operations – Your sponsorship will support our transportation, equipment, uniforms, show expenses, technical staff costs, and instrument purchase and repair.
Statewide competition – Every year, Desert Ridge High School hosts a statewide Marching Band Competition. Bands from across the state come to compete and your donation will help provide supplies needed for this event.
The DRHS BPO is a Sec. 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Some or the entire amount of your
contribution/sponsorship may be tax deductible (consult your tax advisor). We will provide your business with a tax donation receipt letter for any contribution greater than $250.
The attached advertising and benefits schedule show multiple levels of donations/ sponsorships all with commensurate benefits. I hope you will take a few minutes to review the enclosed donor benefits and be ready to take steps to support the Desert Ridge High School Bands!
